NDIM gave this opportunity to the academicians to enhance their research and publication capabilities through a proper understanding of research process, approach, and the methodologies. The FDP program summarized the aspects relating to the literature review framing objectives collection of data analyzing it and finally framing it into a research paper. Due focus was paid to the details of referencing style, appendices, bibliography and drawing of tables and figures. The program also intended to guide the attendees about the selection of right journal, interactions with journal editors and also about the issues related to referees concerns about revisions. This FDP intended to orient participants towards developing their own research plans with due attention to every stage of research.
The program received overwhelming response from not only the participants but also the organizers and volunteers who noticed this workshop as an opportunity for great learning in the field of research. The feedback received stressed the repetition of such programs.

Students shared their cultures with others. The students attended three faculty presentations on Digital marketing, Demonetization and Unity within Diversity. Delegates showed a lot of interest and were enlightened.

FDP conducted was focused on current and emerging teaching-learning methodologies/ technologies to motivate the faculty towards professional excellence and satisfaction having following objectives :
* To Understand the significance of alignment amongst the fundamental elements of effective teaching and learning;
* Be able to suitably apply the principles of adult learning in varied learning contexts;
* Be able to describe and choose from the signature pedagogies used in the management education; FDP raised the following questions and assisted participants to find answers which are supported by real learning based on Interactive sessions on ideas/thoughts /personal experiences in education and research based data.
* How to motivate the learners?
* How do you familiarize the diverse group of learners that you are teaching in a class room?
* How do you write learning outcomes for your course?
* How do you conduct classes based on active and cooperative learning strategies?
* How do you make an assessment plan?
* How do you do reflective teaching?
The purpose of the session was to bring both senior and junior faculty to one platform so that the rich individual teaching/learning experiences at NDIM, could be shared to all, for mutual benefits. The discussions was oriented towards bringing out the real issues/ethos of the US and Indian campuses and how well we respond to International and National cultural diversity.
NDIM celeberated Lohri

“Traditional singing and dancing accompanied with sumptuous feast and bonfire set up the mood for grande Lohri celebrations.This festival is believed to burn all the moments of sadness and bring in warmth of happiness and love. Lohri marks the end of the harvest in Northern India, and is characterised by the worship of fire. The Lohri fire gets sanctified and is respected as a deity .This fire (Lohri Bonfire) is considered a representation of energy and spiritual strength and is lit during the festival in every household.Various grains like peanuts, popcorn, puffed rice and similar goodies are ceremonially `fed’ to this fire. What follows, of course, is a great feast full of traditional dishes.”

The Summit initiated brainstorming ideas to create a national lliance to strengthen arts and social entrepreneurship sectors.
Five panel discussions were organized on the themes below:-

Panel 3- Taking traditional art businesses to mainstream
Panel 4- The Risk takers or art and craft entrepreneurs

The panel discussions were followed by the announcement of All India Arts Alliance by Dr Shashank Shah from Harvard University. The panelists and other dignitaries created a human chain as a symbolic gesture of the alliance. The event was followed by an arts exhibition of Indian art enterprises.

NDIM Celeberated Bihu

NDIM celebrated the auspicious event of north-east, BIHU Festival , which marks the celebration of the graceful end of a harvesting season. Virtual tour of the scenic beauty, the landscape, the flora and fauna of the blessed land of north east “a paradise unexplored”via a video presentation. Since Bihu marks the celebration of harvest and abundance hence ethnic dances formed an unalienable part of our celebrations. The display of rich cultural heritage through cultural performances provided an ideal opportunity for NDIM students to learn the rich cultural diversity and connect with each other easily.
Inter College Sports ‘Spardha 2017’ at NDIM

Football, Badminton, basketball, Cricket, Kho – Kho, and Volley ball were the sports held on 19th -20th January at Jasola sports complex and Tble Tennis, Tug of war, Pool, Carom & Chess held on 20th January at NDIM campus followed by prize distribution ceremony. Trophies and medals were bagged by aspiring students from different colleges and NDIM. The event ended with cheerful note and filled with promises for the young and sports enthusiasts.

“The session was part of NDIM International Knowledge Series, which intends to enhance academic and business learning among students, faculty and other industry invitees.
Dr Shah has consented to contribute to research, academic inputs, faculty and students development initiatives pioneered by NDIM and has agreed to collaborate in several initiatives including CSR and a book on leadership case studies. He also agreed to consider a proposal on setting up, ‘Centre for Global Best Practices” at NDIM.
Dr Shashank talked about win –win strategies rooted in Indian culture and discussed various examples from his recent book “Win-Win Corporations.”
He began by emphasizing the critical role of Education system of a country, as it is the bank on which the nation draws its cheques. It is unfortunate that the desire of getting more & more at other person’s cost can be seen very often in the corporate world and we need to create win-win situations. He closed his session with a request to the audience to take a vow on Republic Day eve that each one of us will not be a complaint box but a creative box instead. “
